When
You Need a Miracle: How to Ask God for the Impossible
By Linda Evans Shepherd
Do you need a miracle?
In her book, When
You Need a Miracle: How to Ask God for the Impossible, Linda asks, “Are
you facing a dark hour as you ponder your circumstances? She reminds us of the
words of Jesus in John 14:1: “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God,
and trust also in me” (NLT).
Boldly, the author says, “If
you read this book until the end, you will experience miracles.” She adds, “The
more you invite God into your life, the more you’ll learn to rest in his
abiding presence and the more miracles you’ll see.”
I took Linda up on her
statements. With eagerness to receive a miracle, I read the book to the end. I
did see miracles, and I continue to see miracles.
If we have troubles in our
lives, the author says perhaps God “is simply giving us the opportunity to seek
him and to invite him to draw ever near.”
Every chapter includes a
miraculous prayer for the reader to pray and scripture to ponder. This is no
ordinary book on prayer. The reminders of God’s love, the scriptures that tell
us who we are in Christ, the incredible true stories, and the author’s
transparency about her own life make the reader expect a miracle.
Sometimes when we are in the
thick of horrendous circumstances, we forget we are on earth in spiritual
warfare, and we have an enemy who hates us. Look at John 10:10: “The thief
comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full” (NIV). The miracle book is worth double the price just
for the Set Free Prayer Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4.
The chapters on forgiveness,
praise and being sold out for the Lord will light a spiritual fire within you.
And if that weren’t enough Linda has a website, www.NeedMiracleBook.com with a brief
video for each chapter. You won’t want to miss a single one of them.
Thanks for sharing, Yvonne - what a powerful resource!
